Canvas art work can be expensive, especially the Z-Gallerie $500 art pieces we all love! I’ve researched many different types of art that could be easy to re-create and still elegant. Or look like you bought it a fancy Los Angeles art studio. Modern art can be difficult to re-create, therefore, here is an easy and affordable way out. Using resources we all may have in our homes. Painters tape or even scotch tape to create straight lines that are straight enough to look like a professional created it 🙂
This technique is just one of many cheap and easy ways to create modern art. It was easy, cheap, and took only a couple of hours with drying time included!
- Paint your white Canvas completely black, (you can do two coats) then let the canvas dry. This step should take less than an hour.
- Next, place painters tape on canvas however you would want your black lines to appear. This might take the most time to get the design you want 🙂 (the jagged edges were intentional with the way the tape was placed).
- Paint over the whole canvas with white paint. (leave the tape on the canvas, the tape will be taken off at the end). Then, let the paint dry completely. You can do two coats of white paint.
- Peel off the painters tape! And you should have something like this! be creative, put as much or as little tape you would like to have more or less black lines.
